A year later he joined the Army and was sent to Korea. Gordon was in B Company, 3rd Armored Cavalry (24th Division). He later transferred stateside as an MP to Camp Pickett in Virginia. Getting as close as possible to Texas where Leo lived.
For his service in Korea, Gordon was awarded the United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars and a Combat Infantryman Badge.
Gordon was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Leonita (Leo) Dally and Grandson Evan Wayne Cox.
He is survived by his children, Mark (Tammy) Dally, Gail (Phil) Tarantino and Paul (Astrid) Dally; grandchildren, Sean (Kendalyn) Cox, Tarra (Tyler) Timmons and Taylor Dally; and great grandsons; Evan Cox, Tyson Timmons and Tanner Timmons.
A private ceremony will be held at Miramar National Cemetery.
