

Jacqueline Jean Jackson Jones was born on March 8, 1927 in Long Beach, California, to Galen Hathaway and Margaret Elizabeth McLean Jackson. Jean had a twin brother John Jay Jackson, and an older brother Arthur Galen Jackson. Her happy childhood included piano, tap dancing, cheer-leading, basketball, and Campfire Girls. At 15 years old Jean met Clyde Frank Jones Jr. on the beach in Long Beach, near where her parents had met. They married on June 11, 1943. Clyde became a third generation fire fighter for the Long Beach Fire Department. They had 4 children: Clyde Frank III (CJ), Stephen Craig, Jerry Lewis, and Nancy May. They lived in Long Beach then moved to Salton Sea Beach where Jean and her family enjoyed desert vehicles, water sports and feeding roadrunners on her doorstep. Jean worked at local elementary school cafeterias as a cook and manager for 28 years. Jean's family helped build the West Shores Baptist Church in 1950. Jean loved to vacation at Bass Lake, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite and Lake Shasta. Jean enjoyed cruise ship vacations with Clyde. They were married for 64 years. Jean had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In 2019, Jean moved to Pacifica Monte Vista Village, where she loved and was loved by everyone there. She signed up for every activity and made many friends who called her J J.
