

Beloved Husband Randolph Jay Morton, 75, passed away from his lengthy battle with stage IV Lung Cancer on Thursday, September 21, 2021, in La Mesa California with his wife Edna Sains Morton by his side. The only son, of Claude and DeAnn Conrad Morton was born, with his w/ twin sister Kathy Ann at San Diego Mercy Hospital on August 7, 1946. His childhood in Lakeside was adventurous and delivered many a story of what life looked like in a pretty small town where everybody knew your name.
Randy is survived by his wife Edna Sains Morton of 26 years, an ex-wife Linda Franklin, his two adult children; Leasha Morton Taggart (Wes) and Ryan Jay Morton (Kelly), and seven Grandchildren; Hannah, Hayley, Emma, Ella Taggart; Harrison, Sophia, Hudson Morton. Also, Randy's older sister Claudia Morton DeNure (Richard) and twin sister Kathleen Morton (Mummert) deceased in 2018. Randy's other relatives are too many to mention. His children and grandchildren whom he cherished above all else have a special relationship. He is honored and adored.
After El Cap High School, Randy found his love of Race Cars and toured with the Pros around the country Bonneville salt flat, Indianapolis 500, etc until his first child was, Leasha, was born. Then in his 40's, his family moved back to California to El Cajon where Buck Knives was his livelihood as a Metallurgical Engineer holding several knife patents. Randy married Edna in 1995 where they live aboard a 57-foot SailBoat for 16+ years of fairytale life in Coronado California. Three years later, with his knowledge and skill and her love of stamps, co-founded a Hobby & Craft business until 2012. As a gifted engineer consultant, he was hired to do many projects for other companies after his time after Buck Knives.
He leaves behind a grateful family who will forever miss his presence all the days of our lives. We will love and support one another as he has taught us to do until we are rejoined. Family is his legacy. Randy's strength of spirit is heroic and courageous. A truly giving and loving soul. An amazing husband, friend, father, and grandfather who is loved dearly by his children and grandchildren, family, and friends. We can truly say, he was our Hero and Love.
A private memorial with the family to spread in the remains in a special place per his solemn request. SAVE THE DATE: The family will receive friends for his Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 15 2022 in his hometown of Lakeside, CA at the Lakeside Historical Society Church, where his twin-sister Kathy Celebrated Life Event occurred.
Due to Covid19, we request safety and an RSVP to any of his family for a seating count and food arrangements; like boxlunches to be served for the protection of all attending. In lieu of flowers, please consider planting a tree /eco-friendly memorial trees.
