
Mrs. Criswell was born May 10, 1927 in Randolph County, AL, daughter of the late Hiram Andrew Smith Brown and Venie Lou Bowen Brown. She is a member of First Baptist Church on the Square and was employed with Belk’s Department Store and G. Mansour’s as a seamstress before retiring.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, James Taylor Criswell of LaGrange; one son, James Anthony Criswell and his wife Rebecca of LaGrange; two granddaughters, Libby Criswell and Milly Criswell, who were dearly loved and adored by their “Maw Maw”; one brother, Gaines Harlin Brown of Woodland, AL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with Dr. Paul Baxter and Reverend Paul Blair officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens. The gathering of family and friends will be on Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to First Baptist Church on the Square in memory of Mrs. Adelle Brown Criswell.
