Ann W. Rutland

Ann was born July 20, 1938 in Newnan, GA, daughter of the late Roy T. Webb and Hazel Potts Webb.

Ann was an avid Alabama Football and Atlanta Braves fan. She also loved working in her garden, tending to her yard and being outside. She loved her family sharing all of their accomplishments and achievements. Ann worked as a Family Attendant at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary for many years and developed relationships with so many people in the community.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Barney Hugh Rutland and her beloved best furry friend Sassy.

Survivors include her brother, Zack (Brenda) Webb; sister, Hazel “Sissy” Scott; niece, Dr. Lynn (Tony) Giles and their children, John Mark Giles, Scott (Melanie) Giles and Liza Giles; nephew, Thomas (Virginia Nieves) Scott and their children, Andrew Scott and Luis Nieves; niece, Holly (Ben) Boatright and their children, Alexis Boatright and Analiese Boatright; special friend and caregiver, Cindy Reimers; several other relatives and friends.

The Celebration of Life Service will be Monday, May 20, 2024 at 11:00am in the Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Chapel with Minister Jerry Scarborough officiating. A private family committal service will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donation be made to the LaGrange Troup County Humane Society in memory of Ann Rutland.
