Bruce “The Juicer” Alan Simms, a resident of LaGrange, GA, passed away February 3, 2022, at the age of 73. Born in West Palm Beach, Florida on October 2, 1948, Bruce, a lifelong Viking, graduated from Miami Norland Senior High School and Miami-Dade Junior College, and was self-employed in the logging industry.
In his youth, Bruce was an avid diver, surfer, and traveler; often traveling the East and West Coasts of the United States and Mexico in search of a perfect place to dive, spearfish or surf.
Always one to have his camera at the ready, he loved to document his many adventures with family and friends through his camera lens and always had copies made for sharing. In addition to photography, one of his most passionate hobbies was seeing live music. Though not a musician himself, Bruce loved listening to and sharing music with his family and friends and had diverse interests in a multitude of musical genres across many decades. Combining those loves, his collections of photographs of live bands like the Rollings Stones, Janis Joplin, and Grace Slick took pride of place whenever anyone came to visit.
Bruce was preceded in death by his father Charles Butler Simms and his mother Gustiss Elizabeth Bryan Noyes. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Angie Simms, son Adam Martin, daughter Dorri Smith, son-in-law Andrew Smith, son Wesley Simms, daughter-in-law Ashley Cusanelli, sister Norbette Egging, brother-in-law Wim Egging, and granddaughter Alexis Martin, along with many nieces and nephews.
