

Mr. Stanfield was born July 12, 1947 in Louisville, KY, son of the late Clarence Harvey Stanfield, Jr. and Florence Benefield Stanfield. He was a graduate of Georgia State College with a Masters Degree. Mr. Stanfield was a U.S. Army veteran and was retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after 23 years of service. During his military career, he received numerous medals including the Bronze Star Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal. His career continued as a teacher, coach, and athletic director for 17 years.
Survivors include his wife, Marian Stanfield of Pine Mountain, GA; two sons and daughters-in-law, John Scott and Jessica Stanfield of Winder, GA and Christopher Aaron and Julie Stanfield of Asheville, NC; two grandchildren, Jaeda Stanfield and Jonathan Stanfield; and one brother and sister-in-law, Nicholas and Joyce Fogleman Stanfield of Versailles, KY.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 12 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Chapel with Mr. Tony Walls officiating.
The family will be at the home of his wife, Marian Stanfield, and will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M.
The family requests contributions be made to Callaway High School, Athletic Department in memory of Mr. Charles David Stanfield.
