

Mr. Hughes was born November 14, 1924 in Macon, GA, son of the late Clifford Wyman Hughes, Sr. and Susie Odom Hughes. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of LaGrange and the LaGrange Rotary Club. Mr. Hughes was employed with the City of LaGrange as the City Engineer and was retired after more than 30 years of service. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served during War World II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lovie Connell Hughes.
Survivors include three children, Gay Burvis of Franklin, TN, Cliff Hughes and Hank Hughes of LaGrange; four grandchildren, Taylor McIntosh, Ford Hughes, Henry Hughes, and Fred Hughes; and one sister, Frances Middlebrooks of Jackson, GA.
A celebration of life will be held 3:30 P.M. Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Chapel with Dr. Harold Lawrence officiating.
The family will receive friends at the home of Mr. Wyman Hughes this evening from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to First United Methodist Church of LaGrange or Hospice LaGrange in memory of Mr. C. Wyman Hughes, Jr.
