Dee was born November 11, 1940 in Hamtramck, MI, daughter of the late Robert Deleon and Ruth Steinbauer Deleon. She was employed with the State of Georgia and later in life she worked for the Charles D. Hudson Transitional Center as Chief Nutritionist before retiring. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Felton Eugene Burke and 3 brothers, Bobby Deleon, Steven Deleon, and Bruce Deleon.
Survivors include her sons, Mike Burke (Janie) and Mark Burke; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brother, Donnie Deleon (Hillary); and several nieces and nephews.
The Celebration of Life service will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 23, 2024 in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, LaGrange, GA with Rev. Brandon Brooks officiating. The burial will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery. The gathering of family and friends will be on Thursday from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Mrs. Dolores Ruth Deleon Burke.
