Donna was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her loving husband, Daniel Clifford; her son, Cody Clifford, his wife Rachel, and their daughters Lydia and Verity; and her daughter, Leah Clifford, and her husband Donghyun Kim. She is also survived by her two older brothers, Harold “Skip” Bassford and John Bassford.
Donna lived a full and meaningful life marked by service, creativity, and deep love for others. She earned an associate’s degree as a trained machinist and worked in a variety of roles throughout her life. She served the State of Oregon in the Department of Human Services, cared for mentally disabled adults in group home settings, and spent time as a licensed dog groomer in Norridgewock, Maine. She loved serving at the Grants Pass Seventh-day Adventist Church thrift store alongside her friends. She also played an important role in helping operate an organic vegetable farm in Klamath Falls, Oregon, and worked within the Seventh-day Adventist school system in Roseburg, Oregon.
Above all, Donna had a heart for children and ministry. She faithfully served in children’s ministries within the Seventh-day Adventist Church for many years, pouring her energy into Vacation Bible School programs, Sabbath School, and countless events designed to nurture and encourage young lives in faith.
Donna found joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments. She loved puzzles and word games, board and card games, caring for cats—especially her beloved cat Henry—and planning special gatherings like tea parties that brought people together. She had a unique ability to make others feel welcome, valued, and loved.
Those who knew Donna will remember her as caring, joyful, humorous, and delightfully silly, with a tender heart. At the same time, she was strong, practical, and hardworking. She possessed a magnetic personality that drew people in, and her kindness left a lasting impact on everyone she met.
Her faith in Jesus Christ was central to her life. She cared deeply about serving Him and sharing His love with others, especially through her work with children and her involvement in the church.
Donna’s greatest joy was her family. She loved raising her children and cherished her role as a wife, mother, and grandmother.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at the LaGrange Seventh-day Adventist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the LaGrange Seventh-day Adventist Church Children’s Ministry Department in Donna’s honor.
Donna was a truly special person whose life touched many. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
“But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”— Matthew 19:14 (NKJV)
