Emory Lamar Barber Sr.

Mr. Barber was born April 21, 1941 in Roanoke, AL, son of the late Jesse Render Barber and Mary Osteen O’Neal Barber. He was a member and Deacon of Olive Branch Baptist Church, Franklin, GA. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Ben Barber.

Survivors include his wife of 59 ½ years, Betty Barber; children, Emory Barber, Jr. (Audrey), Gary Barber (Sherry), and June Barber; siblings, Gail Barber Fite (Hunter), Larry Barber (Diane), and Harry Barber (Cutine); and grandchildren, Ryan, Wayne, Katherine, Lauren, Matthew, Lauren, Faith, and Mallory.

Celebration of Life service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 19, 2020 in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with Rev. Mark Shelnutt officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery, Franklin, GA. The gathering of family and friends will be on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, LaGrange, GA.
