Fred Vernon Purnell

Mr. Purnell was born March 3, 1944 in Victoria, Texas, son of the late Fred Vernon Purnell, Sr. and Norma Daniel Purnell. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of LaGrange and was employed with Federated, May Company, and Mansour’s before retiring.

Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Margie Purnell; daughter, Kelly Elizabeth (Joseph) Fleming; son, Michael Paul (Zoe) Purnell; grandchildren, Luke and Anna Purnell and Ellen and Emma Fleming; brother, Dan (Rosemary) Purnell and daughter, Sarah Purnell; uncle, Dr. Howard (Billye) Purnell; sister-in-law, Angie (Ron) Palmer; and brothers-in-law, Charles (Margarita) Aycock and John Aycock.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 3, 2014 at First United Methodist Church of LaGrange with Dr. Harold Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens. The gathering of family and friends will be Thursday, January 2, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
