

Glenn was born May 8,1951 in LaFayette, AL to Nora Sheets and John William (Willie) Wiggins. He grew up in LaGrange, graduated from LaGrange High School in 1969 and from Georgia Southwestern College in 1973 with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. He played football in high school, and was a member of the bowling team in college.
In 1970, he married Cathy Cadenhead Wiggins, his high school sweetheart. They lived in Americus, GA until his college graduation. They then moved to LaGrange, where they raised their daughters Leigh and Beth. He worked for Colonial Stores, Big Star, and A & P, retiring as store manager. He later worked for Palm Harbor Homes.
Glenn was a caring and gentle man and deeply loved his family. He had a strong faith in God. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and Tennessee football. He loved boating with his friends and family. The ocean was his happy place where he could relax. He was able to repair almost anything, and was a master at grilling and enjoyed sharing his cooking skills with West Georgia Hospice families and staff.
Glenn is preceded in death by his father and mother. He is survived by his wife, Alma Catherine (Cathy) Cadenhead Wiggins, daughters Leigh Wiggins Thompson (Curt) and Beth Wiggins Hughes (Steven), and by beloved grandsons Carter Thompson and Griffen Thompson and granddaughter Taylor Hughes, and sister-in-law Sally Cadenhead Crews (Norred).
The family would like to express their gratitude to the devoted staff and volunteers of West Ga. Hospice who cared for Glenn and guided his family. They brought comfort and peace through the last months and days of his life.
A gathering of family and friends will take place on Saturday, April 18, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, LaGrange.
