Mr. Black was born October 7, 1938 in Hapeville, GA, son of the late Herman Franklin Black and Maude Frances Sisson. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was a member of the Masonic Lodge 178 in Conyers, GA. Mr. Black was in the printing industry and worked for a number of companies in the Atlanta and LaGrange area including Shorewood Packaging. He took karate at an early age and enjoyed fishing and reading. Mr. Black was a good and loving man, who will be missed by all that knew him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Sarah Whitaker and Mary Duncan.
Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Betty S. Black; daughter, Elaine Lee Monogue; granddaughters, Marilyn Leigh Chen and Sara Alexandra Chen; sister, Elaine Clay; several other relatives and friends.
A Graveside Service will be held in Crest Lawn Memorial Park, Atlanta, GA on Monday, May 16, 2022 at 1:00pm.
