James Matt Matthew Rowe

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Aubrey and Juanita Messick of Goshen, AL, Helen Rowe and Fred and Mary Rowe.

Matt was born April 15, 1981 in Waynesboro, VA. He was a 1999 graduate of LaGrange High School where he played football, baseball and basketball. However, his favorite sports were hunting and fishing. He served his country faithfully in the United States Marine Corps and served one tour in the Iraq War.

Matthew will always be remembered for his sweet smile, perfect hair and his loving and caring personality. He never met a stranger young or old and he loved everyone. He always saw the good in people and would help anyone at any time.

He is survived by his daughter, Savannah Rowe and son, Sullivan Rowe; parents, Jim and Gail Rowe; brother, Bill Rowe; sister, Julie Rowe along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 2:30 P.M Sunday, October 1, 2023 in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church on the Square in LaGrange, GA. The Gathering of Family and Friends will take place from 1:30 A.M to 2:30 P.M prior to the service on Sunday. The burial will take place at 4:00 P.M. after the service at the United Methodist Church Cemetery in Luthersville, GA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in James' memory may be made to First Baptist Church on the Square, LaGrange, Georgia; and Gideons International.
