James Scott Smith, Sr.

Scott was born June 3, 1962 in LaGrange and was formerly employed with Vaughn’s Trucking Company. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Smith Taunton, sister, Lynn Smith Faulk, grandparents, W.T. Pike, Lucille Pike, Amos Smith, and Polly Smith.

Survivors include his children and their spouses, Tabitha and Rob Smith, Jamie and Maria Smith, and Brandon Smith; father, Amos Paul Smith; sister and brother-in-law, Tracy and Eric Johnson; brother, Jeremy Faulk; five grandchildren, Jasolynn Smith, Alissa Smith, Ashly Smith, Kacy Smith, and Emmitt Smith; and a special uncle and aunt, William and Sally Pike.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Western Heights Baptist Church with Reverend Cleve Moore and Reverend Steve Vickery officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens.

The family will be at the home of his sister and brother-in-law, Tracy and Eric Johnson, 76 Whitaker Road, and will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions be made to the James Scott Smith, Sr., Funeral Fund, c/o BB&T, 310 Broad Street, LaGrange, GA 30240.
