Kathryn Hunt

Mrs. Hunt was born November 10, 1930 in Harris County, GA, daughter of the late Wiley Jackson Oliver and Bessie Evans Thompson. She lived in LaGrange most of her life and was retired from Playtex Manufacturing Company. Mrs. Hunt and her husband owned and operated Valley Seafood from 1971 to 1983. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hunt was preceded in death by her husband, Jeff A. Hunt, Jr., brother, Chuck Oliver, and a grandson, Wesley Chaney, Jr. She was devoted to her husband for 60 years and was a loving mother and “mawmaw” and will be dearly missed by all.

Survivors include her children, Ron Hunt of LaGrange, Dawn Hunt Turner of LaGrange, and Susan H. and Wesley Chaney of Pine Mountain, GA; grandchildren and their spouses, Kim and Bill Jones, Holly and Shane Scott, Kristy Crow, Jeffrey and Christopher Hunt, all of LaGrange; great grandchildren, Shelby Scott, Sydney Lynch, Levi Wynn, Molly Jones, Cynthia Hunt, and Eli Hunt; brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Louise Oliver of Loganville, GA; sisters and their spouses, Bee and Jim Littlefield of LaGrange, Wylene and Buck Buchanan of Morganfield, KY; Lillie Howell of Forest Park, GA, and Debbie Oliver of Snellville, GA; several nieces and nephews; in-laws, Arnold and Patricia Hunt of Franklin, GA, Jewel Gaddy of Hogansville, and Dorothy Hunt of Hogansville; and special friends and caregivers, Laura McGraw and Rita Earnest.

Funeral services will be held 4:00 P.M. today, August 6, 2011 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Chapel with visitation prior to the funeral service from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Reverend Brandon Brooks will officiate. Burial will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery.

The family will be at the home of Mrs. Kathryn Hunt.
