Mrs. Evans was born October 3, 1931 in Steger, IL, daughter of the late Harold and Vera Shaw. She lived in Steger most of her life before moving to LaGrange 13 years ago. She worked for Blue Cross/Blue Shield for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Evans, and by a son, Gary Karpik.
Survivors include her daughter, Christine Karpik of LaGrange; three sons, Michael Karpik of Chicago Heights, IL, James Karpik and Andrew Evans, both of LaGrange; a sister, Doris Qunell of Illinois; a brother, Harold (Chris) Shaw of Ohio; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will host a memorial service 3 p.m. Sunday, December 26, 2010 at Callaway Park Church of God with Pastor Mark Davenport officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following in the fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the building fund at Callaway Park Church of God in memory of LaDonna Faye Evans.
