Lois, a native of Woodland, Alabama, was a woman of strong will and quiet determination. After graduating from high school and working as a nanny, she moved to LaGrange, Georgia, to work in the textile mills. She met and married her husband Robert in 1942. They made LaGrange their home for over 60 years. After retirement Lois devoted many years to quilting, sewing, crocheting, gardening, working crossword puzzles, and spending time with her grandchildren. Lois was a devoted Christian: sweet in spirit, faithful in prayer and tithing, and committed to the Baptist and Presbyterian faiths for her lifetime.
After the passing of her husband and son, Lois entrusted her care to her daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Edd Gibson and their two children Stacey and Gaines.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 10, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Private burial to follow.
