Margaret Ann Ross

Margaret Ann Ross, age 84, of LaGrange, Georgia, passed peacefully on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at West Georgia Hospice. Born April 11, 1941, in Post Oak Fork, Alabama, she was a graduate of Five Points High School and the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she earned her dental hygienist license.

A resident of LaGrange for over sixty years, she was a vital part of countless community endeavors.

As a longtime member of Franklin Road Baptist and later First Baptist Church on the Square, Margaret served in many capacities, including as a board member for Rockridge Baptist Assembly. With a heart for missions, she served in numerous leadership roles with the Women’s Missionary Union, both locally and statewide.

Drawing upon her dental hygienist training, she participated in multiple dental mission trips to the Yucatán Peninsula and was instrumental in the creation of the free dental clinic at First Baptist Church.

Additionally, she was a founder and past president of the LaGrange International Friendship Exchange, leading local delegations to the sister cities of Craigavon, Northern Ireland; Aso, Japan; and Poti, Georgia.

Flamboyant, devoted, exuberant, and giving are only a few words that describe his proud porphyrophile and ever-loyal fan of Alabama football. Those who were in her orbit feel the enormity of her absence. She will be remembered both for—and by—the many people from all walks of life whose lives she touched.

Great comfort is found in the assurance that Margaret’s incredible life has not ended, but has, in fact, only just begun. Those who know her Redeemer, the Savior Jesus Christ, look forward to the never-ending celebration where we will rejoice alongside her once again.

Two causes dear to Margaret were the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions and the First Baptist Church Dental Clinic. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be considered for these efforts.

A visitation will be held at 814 Camellia Dr. Lagrange, Georgia, on Thursday December 18, from 6:00- 8:00 PM.

A Celebration Of Life will take place on December the 19, at 12:00 PM at First Baptist Church On The Square in Lagrange.
