Marie was born December 11, 1949, daughter of Helen ‘Olean’ Norris of LaGrange and the late Dewey L. Norris, Sr. She was a lifelong area resident of LaGrange and a member of Broad Street Church of Christ. She worked for many years with her father at Norris Machine Shop.
Survivors other than her mother include her husband, Reuben Taylor; three children, Christy (Eddie) Yearta, Ginger (Philip) Truitt, and Blake Taylor, all of LaGrange; grandchildren, Lyssa Treadwell and Tyler Treadwell; brothers, Dewey Norris, Earl Norris, and Allen Norris; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of the life will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, November 20, 2011 at Broad Street Church of Christ with Gary Kirkendall and Ken May officiating.
The family will gather at the funeral home tonight (Saturday) from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Sunday, immediately following the service to receive friends.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to either the American Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.org) or the COPD Foundation (www.copdfoundation.org) in memory of Marie Taylor.
