Mark Henry Purcell

Mr. Purcell was born April 7, 1958 in LaGrange, GA to the late Dupree Purcell and Edna Inez Hanners Purcell. He was a member of Celebrate Recovery and attended the Pentecostal Holiness Church on Young’s Mill Rd. Mark loved to sing, play his guitar and ukulele. He also enjoyed spending time fishing, playing tennis and sailing. He was once the co-owner of Nita’s Flowers and previously worked at Bacon Street Junkyard. Mark was loved by all and judged no one.

Survivors include his son, Jonathan Purcell of Auburn, AL; aunt, Lillian “Aunt Pep” Johnson of Alma, GA; several cousins, other relatives and friends including close friends, John Freeman, James Rimmer, and Joan Woodson.

The Funeral service will be 3:00pm Wednesday, May 24, 2017 in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with Pastor Paul Glass and Joan Woodson officiating. Family and friends will gather from 2:00pm until service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
