Martha Marietta Peel

Martha made her home in Valley, Alabama, where she built a life centered on love, family, and simple joys. She was a vibrant, loving soul whose greatest happiness came from spending time with her children and grandchildren, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and warmth.

She had a creative spirit and found joy in sewing, often crafting with patience and care. Martha was also an avid belly dancer, embracing music and movement as a joyful expression of her personality. In the kitchen, she was truly exceptional—especially known for preparing the most juicy and delicious Thanksgiving turkey, a tradition her family will forever cherish.

Martha took great pride in her work with Milliken, where she found both purpose and connection. She also loved the freedom of the open road and found joy in riding motorcycles.

She will be remembered for her strength, her warmth, her lively spirit, and the deep love she shared with those around her.

She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Bonner and grandsons, Jesse and Grant Bonner; sisters, Mary Veino and Barbara Peel; niece and nephew, Angela Veino and Thomas Wasson; cousins, Tara Gates and Ramon Torrandell III; ex-son-in-law, Russell Bonner; ex-husbands Donald Wingo, and Richard Pearson.

Martha is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Grice; mother and father, Richard T. and Martha C. Peel.

Pallbearers will be Ramon Torrendell, Russell Bonner, Bryan Bonner, Jesse Bonner, and Grant Bonner.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life beginning at 12:00 p.m. A committal service will follow at Meadoway Gardens.

Family and friends are invited to attend and honor Martha’s life, sharing in remembrance of the love and joy she brought to so many.
