Matthew was born April 12, 1973 in Atlanta, GA son of JoAnne Rogers Oglesby and the late Robert Newton Oglesby, Jr. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church of McDonough, GA, where he served in his youth as an Altar Boy. Matthew was an auto mechanic for many years and loved fishing. He was a kind soul with a wonderful sense of humor. Matthew will be remembered as a loving father, son and uncle. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joe and Bobbie Rogers, and his paternal grandparents, Robert and Elizabeth Olgesby.
Survivors include his mother, JoAnne Oglesby; daughter, Isabella Oglesby; brother, Keith (Mandy) Oglesby; sister, Amanda (Barry) Marston; nephew Waylon Oglesby; nieces, Presley Oglesby, Macie Marston and Braylee Marston; several cousins, aunts, uncles, in-laws, Evangelina Herrera, Ashley and Rodrigo Bliss Lima, Sarah and Nigel Bliss Martin, Gerry and Susan Sanchez, Christina and Manley Peterson; other relatives and friends.
The Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00am Saturday, October 23, 2021 in the Striffler-Hamby Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
