
He was born September 20, 1988 in LaGrange, the son of Mike and Emily Parrish. He grew up in LaGrange and graduated from LaGrange High School in 2007. He was enrolled in LaGrange College and was about to graduate with a Bachelor of Music in Composition and Music Technologies.
Griff was a talented musician and lyricist and performed original songs throughout the region. His lyrics were often funny and thought provoking, and it was obvious to all that music was an important part of his life.
Griff was well known for his magnetic personality and his passion for life. Through his music and his travels, he made friends throughout the world and could not travel to a city without someone calling out, “Hey, Griff!” Many will remember him fondly.
Griff is survived by his parents: Michael Young Parrish and Emily Griffin Parrish; and his sister, Elisabeth Parrish. He also leaves his paternal grandfather, James Parrish, of Jacksonville, Florida, as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins on both sides of his family.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 29, at First Presbyterian Church at 4 p.m.
