Quenton Dillard Taylor

Mr. Taylor was born April 26, 1931 in Doerun, GA, son of the late Jacob Dillard Taylor and Sarah Gladys Varnadoe Taylor. He was a member of Heart of Worship Church and was employed with Overnite Transportation Company as Safety Director and was Rodeo Master of Georgia Motors Trucking Association until retirement. After retirement, Mr. Taylor managed the farm of a family friend. Mr. Taylor served his country proudly as a Marine from 1952 til 1954. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Roy “Buddy” Lynwood Taylor.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Janice Florence Waters Taylor; children, Donna Langston, Richard (Kathy) Taylor, Robbin Taylor (Kersh) McIntyre, and Gene (Tandie) Taylor; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Joann Taylor Wicker and her children, Lavonne Alberti, Randy George, and Ronnie Calvert; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Community Chapel Church in Pine Mountain Valley with Reverend Steve Evans and Reverend Ricky Lipp officiating. Burial will follow in the Community Chapel Cemetery following the services. The gathering of family and friends will be Monday, July 7, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary.
