

Dr. Taylor was born October 13, 1929 in LaGrange, son of the late Lois Dan Taylor and Essie Lee Horton Taylor. He served as the pastor and member of Oakside Baptist Church for 42 years, during which time he received his Honorary Doctrine of Theology. Dr. Taylor was the founder of Oakside Christian School and the WOAK Christian Radio Station. He was a U.S. Marine Corp Veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Wylene McCann Taylor; three children, Lawrence Allen (Sherry) Taylor, Sandra Presnal, and Faye Carter; grandchildren, Tammy (Sammy) Bailey, Melissa (Brian) Maradik, Tracie Presnal, Josh (Kelly) Carter, Eric Taylor, Ashley Carter, Amy (Daniel) Wallace, Jamie (Renee) Duran, Jodi (Rodney) Dale, and Jeff (Samantha) Duran; 8 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Dr. Taylor was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Harper.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Oakside Baptist Church with Reverend S.T. Janney, Reverend Bruce Smith, and Reverend D.H. Easter officiating. Burial will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
The family will be at the home of his wife, Mrs. Wylene Taylor, and will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to West Georgia Hospice or WOAK Radio Station in memory of Dr. Ralph A. Taylor.
