Ruth Bentley

Ruth was a devoted family woman whose greatest joy in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She had a deep love for cooking and took pride in bringing family together around the table, especially during the holidays. Christmas held a special place in her heart, and she delighted in celebrating traditions and creating lasting memories. She also looked forward each year to the Fourth of July, when she enjoyed buying fireworks and celebrating with loved ones.

Ruth had a vibrant personality and a wide range of interests. She loved music, comedy, and action movies, and she was an avid sports fan. Of all the teams she cheered for, Alabama football was her favorite. Her favorite color, blue, reflected the warmth and calm spirit she brought to those around her.

She is survived by her loving husband, David Bentley; her sons, Adam Short (Kaitlin Kessel) and Brandon Short (Katie); her daughters, Ashley and Denise Short; her cherished grandchildren, Summer, Ryan, Ivan, and Cheyanne; her brothers, Joe, Lee, and William; and her sister, Maddie.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on April 2, 2026, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary. This will be followed by a celebration of life, with committal at Meadoway Gardens immediately afterward.

Ruth will be remembered for her love, her laughter, and the special moments she shared with family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories that will be held close by all who knew and loved her.
