Sandra was born in Georgetown, Illinois on July 14, 1940 to the late Blanche and Leon Brown, which preceded her in death as did her sister, Gloria Chessman and brother, Leon Brown, Jr., leaving Richard Brown as her only surviving sibling.
Sandra is also survived by her six children, Wilbur Lee (Jonie) Moody, Tim Moody, Elaine Moody Wells, Nancy L. Moody Marlatt, Marcia K. (Sarah) Koester Moody, Sandee K. (Kevin) Jones; 25 grandkids; 35 great grandkids; family friend, Alan Cross and her special cat, “Squirrel”.
Sandy as she was affectionately known, worked at Bohn-Heatcraft in Danville, IL for 38 years until her retirement. She also worked as a hostess at the Elks Club in Danville. She enjoyed gardening, watching sports, as well as adventures with her kids and grandkids.
A family hosted Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to The Harris County Humane Society in memory of Sandra Kay Yates.
