Sherlyn Barfield Parker

Sherlyn was the daughter of the late Myrtle Knight and Fred Allison. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her husbands, Stanley E. Barfield, Sr. and William M. (Mike) Parker, as well as two of her brothers (Raymond and Douglas), her sister (Gail) and brother-in-law (Jim).

Survivors include her children, Stan Barfield, (Fiona) and Robert Barfield; her grandchildren Dylan, Caroline and Liam; siblings Janet Allison, Ervin (Debbie) Allison, Ken Allison, Alan Allison; niece Melissa (Art) Gwozdz; nephew James Booraem; as well as many other nieces, nephews and great nieces/nephews who all loved her dearly.

Sherlyn was born in Atlanta. She was affectionally given the nickname “Bits” because she was such a tiny baby when she was born. Sherlyn held a successful career in finance, while raising two boys after the death of her first husband. She lived several decades in Florida, prior to returning home to Georgia. She was active in her church and loved the Lord.

The family would like to acknowledge Robert Barfield and Alan Allison for taking such good care of Sherlyn over the past several years.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 6 at 11 a.m. at Dallas-Dodd Presbyterian Church in LaGrange. The family will receive friends from 10 AM to 11 AM prior to the service. The committal will take place at Mooty Cemetery in LaGrange, GA.

Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the Georgia Sheriffs Youth Home, Pineland Campus, 2048 Youngs Mill Road, LaGrange, GA 30241.
