Sherrell Dean Welborn Potts

Mrs. Potts was born February 4, 1950 in LaGrange, daughter of the late Rufus Welborn and Jonella Middlebrooks Welborn. She had lived in LaGrange all her life and was a member of United Pentecostal Church. In additional to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Richard Lamar Potts, and a sister, Lena Bowen and a brother, Horace Welborn.

Survivors include six children and their spouses, Nita Butts and her fiancé Troy Buice, Martha Burke and her fiancé Robert Murphy, Timmy and Dawn Bright, Renea Ragan, Brandy and Raymond Yearwood, and Joey and Christina Potts; fourteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; four siblings and their spouses, Trilba and Wallace Brown, Shelia and Wesley Hand, Tresa and Vance Graham, and Cindy and Ed Wisener; two sisters-in-law, Linda and Milton Potts and Gail Welborn; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Mike Burke.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Dalton Hammock officiating. Burial will follow in Meadoway Gardens Cemetery.

The family will be at the home of her daughter, Martha Burke, and will receive friends at the funeral home this evening from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
