

Born in Albemarle, North Carolina, Tom proudly served in the United States Air Force in the Japan war theatre during World War II as a radio operator on the B24 Liberator. Recently, he visited Washington, DC and the World War II Memorial as part of the Honor Flight. Tom and his family move to LaGrange in 1967 and became an integral part of the community as a member of the First Presbyterian Church of LaGrange and the LaGrange Rotary Club, where he served as President.
After ending a long career at General Motors Acceptance Corporation, Tom served the community through his many charitable activities including Meals on Wheels and Habitat for Humanity. His friends remember Tom for his honesty, his humanity, and his moral compass. In the last few years, Tom and his wife were regulars with the Saturday Group at Charlie Joseph’s.
Mr. Woosley issurvived by his wife Peggy Woosley of LaGrange; daughter Carolyn Bradfield of Roswell; son, Bob Woosley of Atlanta and 4 grandchildren, Laura and Ross Bradfield of Atlanta and Hampton and Thomas Woosley, also of Atlanta.
Funeral services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in LaGrange at 1:00 PM on Sunday, July 24, 2011 and officiated by Dr. Doug DeCelle and Dr. Bill Conine. A reception will be held at the church immediately following the service.
The family will be accepting friends at their home at 216 East Lane Circle in LaGrange.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 120 Broad Street, LaGrange, GA 30240 in memory of Thomas H. Woosley.
