Tommie Lou Strickland

Miss Strickland was born February 16, 1941 in LaGrange, GA daughter of the late Thomas Pace Strickland and Lucie Wright Strickland. Miss Tommie graduated from Harris County High School. She attended Elizabeth Starr Finishing School and was a graduate of Massey Business College. She worked over 25 years at Honeywell in Atlanta where she received National Manager of the Year award. She has spent the last 25 years selling real estate. In 2002 while working with Jim Cowart Residential, LLC she was awarded “The Phoenix Award” by the Atlanta Board of Realtors. She was currently attending First United Methodist Church of Alpharetta and was employed with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services as a Realtor. Miss Tommie enjoyed volunteering in several community outreach programs as well as the Trump campaign. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her life partner, Paul Duncan, brother, James “Jimmy” Strickland, and half-brother, Thomas Pace Strickland Jr.

Survivors include her sister-in-law, Sue Strickland; step son, Alan Duncan and his children, Faith, Riley, and Paul; two nephews, Terry (Lee) Strickland and Mike (Loraine) Strickland; niece, Jodie Strickland (Jim) Teel; 13 great nieces and nephews; 15 great great nieces and nephews; and several half-nieces and half-nephews; and many other extended family members and close friends.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 6, 2018 in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, LaGrange, GA. The gathering of family and friends will be on Tuesday from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
