Wilma "Carol" Tanner

Carol was born March 23, 1948, in LaGrange, GA to the late Howell Stanley Shellnut and Annie Mae Turner Shelnutt.

She is survived by her sons, Ken (Dean) Waldroup, Stacey (Brenda) Waldroup and Shane (Katie) Tanner; daughter, Wendy Waldroup; grandchildren, Joseph Waldroup, Heather Waldroup, Ashley (Brad) Bartlet, Danielle Waldroup, Sherry (Ted) Bollen, James Michael Grimes, Jillian Waldroup, Grace Waldroup, Clint Tanner and Luke Tanner; nine great-grandchildren and brothers, Mac Shelnutt and Wayne Shelnutt.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edward Tanner.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, July 1, 2025, in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary. The Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday July 2, 2025, in the Chapel of Striffler Hamby Mortuary. The committal will take place following the service at Gray Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. A reception will follow the committal at Gray Hill Church of God located at 2581 Bartley Rd. LaGrange, GA.
