Arnold "Red" Chancey Addison, Sr, 98, of Ragley, passed into the arms of his Savior on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Medical City-North Hills in North Richland Hills, TX. He was born to his late parents, Jason and Bessie Mae Addison on February 17, 1922 in Lake Charles.
Arnold served in the United State Marine Corps. during the Pacific Theater of World War II and was proud of his service to our country. He was a former Chaplain of the Marine Corp. League and a member of Magnolia Baptist Church in Ragley. Arnold worked for many years at Cities Service (Citgo) as a pipefitter where he retired. He enjoyed country living and working on his property. Arnold and Evelyn sacrificed for their children all of the years that they were together to provide for them. Mr. Addison loved going to the LIFT (Living Information For Today) Programs hosted by Jody Barrilleaux and Amanda Mothershed. He always had a joke to tell and was always a delight to anyone he was around, and everyone loved him.
He is survived by his two daughters, Verue Hughes of DeRidder, Glenda Coy-Scott of Ragley; one sister, Nina Gilbert of Cassville, MO; six grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; along with one great great granddaughter.
Mr. Addison is preceded in death by his loving wife, Evelyn Addison; and one son, Arnold C. Addison, Jr; along with his sisters and brothers.
A Celebration of Arnold Addison, Sr. and A. Chancey Addison, Jr.'s life will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, November 28, 2020, with Pastor Ron Sherer and Bro. Rocky East, officiating and Celebration of Life by Celebrant /LIFT Director Jody Barrilleaux and LIFT Director Amanda Mothershed. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Friday, November 27, 2020, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Saturday, from 12:00pm until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
