Avery Layne Farrell passed away peacefully in the arms of her loving parents on August 7 at Texas Children's Hospital. Avery was born to Charles III (Chas), a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps and Alesi Farrell on January 13, 2014 at LCMH for women. Shortly after her birth, Avery was diagnosed with Turner's syndrome. Her first 29 days were spent in the NICU under the close watch and care of various nurses and doctors. From that point forward, Avery was in and out of hospitals with complications that still have medical professionals scratching their heads. Avery fought hard to overcome these complications and did so successfully until her death. The symbol for women diagnosed with Turner's syndrome is a butterfly because these women are just like a butterfly; they are both considered to be fragile and beautiful miracles.
Though her life was short, Avery’s story touched over a thousand people. Her fight and her will to live has been inspirational to those who met her and followed her story. Avery will forever be referred to as a butterfly, not solely because of the Turner's syndrome association, but because of the miracle child she is.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her favorite big sister, Paisley (2); paternal grandparents, Robert and Naomi Resendez, Charles J Farrell Jr; and maternal grandparents, Bentley and Tisa Albert Berlin; paternal great-grandmother, Romana Martinez; paternal great grandfather, Charles J. Farrell; maternal great-grandparents, Ralph and Marguerite Albert; maternal great grandmother, Janet Berlin and many other relatives and friends who loved “Our Little Butterfly” very much.
“Dearest baby, please know that our greatest blessing was having you.”
