

He was an U.S. Navy Veteran with four years of service and then transferred to the reserves in 1959. He was employed as a self employed welder certified for the oil field for 20 years. He loved to play guitar and sing gospel music. He served his church in various activities for many years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, May Venable Bostick of Lake Charles; daughter, Tammy Broussard and husband, David; sons, Rocky Bostick and Shane Higginbotham and wife, Sybil; brother, Vernon Bostick of Bastrop; sister, Maxine Beebe and husband, Ray of Bastrop; grandchildren, Heidi Broussard, Zyna Higginbotham, Jasmyn Marcel and husband, Donovan, Shayne-Ann Higginbotham, Jedediah Higginbotham and wife, Tina; great grandchildren, Lucus and William Marcel, Ashton and Addison Higginbotham, as well as several nieces and nephews and an abundance of friends who loved him from their hearts and special friend of the family, Bobby Howard. He was preceded in death by his son, Willie Higginbotham; 10 brothers and sisters as well as his parents, Marvin and Ethel Bostick.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Friday, November 12, 2010 at Tom Hebert Baptist Church. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles, 3-9 p.m. Thursday and Friday 8 a.m. til time of service. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com
