He was born in Vinton, LA to parents Daniel and Wilner Lormand on December 2, 1938. He grew up in the lake area, where he worked on the family farm until he graduated high school. He did serve briefly in the Air Force prior to working in the oil field. After his time in the oil field, he worked construction in the chemical plants eventually becoming a project manager until he retired. After retiring he still continued to stay busy by finding building projects to complete. His children and grandchildren were of utmost importance to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years, Sandra Lormand; three children, Janean Stelly and husband Howard Stelly M.D., Bobby Lormand Jr. and partner Terri, and Yvette Lormand; three grandchildren, William Henning and wife Stephanie, Daniel Henning, and Camille Vizena; and two great grandchildren, William Henning and Christopher Henning; brothers, Donald Lormand and wife Gloria and Billy Lormand and wife Gwen, Carl Lormand and partner Lynn; and sister Betty Lormand.
The family would like to invite relatives and friends to Hixson Funeral Home Chapel of Lilies in Lake Charles, LA, for visitation on Saturday, June 08, 2024 beginning at 11 am until the time of service at noon. Services will be led by Elder Troy Warwick.
Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Lake Charles, LA.
