She was born in Lake Charles, LA, on June 26, 1943 to parents Calvin and Hazel Hardesty. She remained largely a resident of the lake area aside from a few years when they lived in California. She married her husband in 1960 and remained until her passing. Together, Brenda and Jerry owned and operated Jerry's Body Shop.
Brenda was not a woman of many hobbies, but she did have a few activities that she loved to share with loved ones; this included camping, or tailgating for McNeese games. She also had a love for Sunday gatherings with her family, where she cooked an amazing roast as long as you got the little bit of gravy with it. Brenda also had a love for plants and planting flowers. Family absolutely was of the utmost importance to her.
Her parents in Heaven are there to welcome her.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jerry Mallet; her daughter, Pam Mallet Gott; her sons, Randy Mallet (Denise), and Jim Mallet (Evella); two sisters, Carol Landry and Sharon Beahr; one brother, Brady Smith; step-brother, Carol Wayne Smith; 7 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin on Monday, August 04, 2025 at 9am until the time of service at 12 in the Chapel of Peace at Hixson Funeral Home, 3001 Ryan st. Lake Charles, 70601. Services will be led by Hixson Celebrant Jody Tyler.
Burial will follow services at Prien Memorial Park.
