Catherine Montalbano Navarra

She was born on November 9, 1928 in St. Louis, Missouri to Joseph and Lena Montalbano. Catherine moved to Lake Charles, La. at the age of five and was raised by the Johnny DiGiglia family. She was a lifetime member of Immaculate Conception Church and was also a member of the Junior League of Lake Charles, The Krewe of Mystique and the Saturday Pappy’s Lunch Group. Catherine greatly loved and cherished her three children, five grandchildren and one great grandson.

She leaves behind two daughters and one son: Anne Navarra McFarland and husband, Terry McFarland of Houston, Tx., Mary Navarra Pinson and husband, Bret L. Pinson of Baton Rouge, La. and Thomas J. Navarra and wife, Pam Navarra of Lake Charles, La; five grandchildren, Barrett McFarland, Tyler McFarland and wife, Kristyn McFarland, Robert Pinson, Amanda and Melissa Navarra. She especially adored her one great grandson, Trent. She also leaves behind one sister, Gigi Rountree of Tyler, Tx.; nieces and nephews that were near and dear to her heart, Paul Montalbano, Pam and Steve Manceaux, Vicki and Pat Montalbano, Ruthy and Mike Montalbano, Mary and Don Bradley and their entire loving family. Catherine also considered her loving caretaker for 20 years, Darlene Bogan, as part of her loving family. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Samuel T. Navarra; parents, Joseph and Lena Montalbano; brothers, Paul and Johnny Montalbano; and Lizz McFarland (wife of Barrett McFarland.)

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30pm, Friday, May 6, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Cathedral. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm with a Prayer Service at 6:00pm and resume Friday at 11:00am until 1:00pm at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery.
