Dallas Joseph Marceaux Sr., age 95 passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. Dallas was born on June 22, 1929 in Kaplan, Louisiana to Clarence Marceaux and Loretta Peyron Marceaux.
Dallas proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force as a Master Sgt. until he retired in 1970 after 23 years of service. He also served a year in the U.S. Army. After his military career he worked as a maintenance supervisor at Sowela Technical College.
Dallas was preceded in death by his wife Helena, son Dallas J Marceaux Jr., brothers, Loveless, Ellis, Louis, Easton, Junius, and Maylan Marceaux, a sister, Irene Harrington, and a granddaughter, Chrysti Watkins.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, David Marceaux; daughter, Janice Weeks; brother, Ulyless Marceaux and wife, Betty; grandchildren, Joshua, Jeremy, Haley, Michelle, Michael, Christina, Kevin, Kayla, Cody; great-grandchildren, Josh II, Samantha, Dayton, Cooper, Colton, Dylan, Brenden, Taylor, Makenzie, Rylee, Alex, Emily, Christopher, and Thylor; numerous great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 4, 2023 at J.E. Hixson Funeral Home with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at 1:00 p.m. until time of his Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Lilies.
It was Dallas's wishes to be cremated and to be laid to rest with his wife at a later date.
