Dana Lynn Trahan

She was born on September 3, 1971 to Patty Trahan and the late James Trahan. Dana grew up in Cameron, La with her sisters, brother and the neighborhood gang. She graduated from South Cameron High School. Her pride and joy was her children, Jonathon Smelley, Harleigh and Hannah Trahan and the newest addition to the family Kacelynn Rae Smelley. She loved her children. Dana enjoyed spending time with family and her friends. She loved life and was always willing to help out anyone in need. Wherever she went she was the life of the party.

The loved ones she will be watching over from heaven are her children, Jonathon Smelley and his daughter, Kacelynn Smelley; her daughter, Harleigh Trahan, her mother, Patty Trahan, her sisters, Angelia and her husband, Blaine, June Trahan, and Mary Guidry Thomas; and sister in law, Gayla Trahan. She also leaves behind nephews, Justin Trahan and wife Rachel, Dylan Conner and fiance’, Megan, Cody Trahan, Nate Stickler and niece, Amber Richard and husband, James, and Maeleigh Conner; her great nieces and nephews, Cayson, Parker, Aria, Talen and Liam.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Hannah Rae Trahan, her father, James Trahan and brother, Brad Trahan.

Visitation will be held for Dana on Saturday July 15, 2017 from 2pm till 9pm with a Rosary being held at 6:00pm at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles and will resume on Sunday at 9am until time of service. Funeral Service will be held Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles at 1pm. Burial will follow at Grand Lake Cemetery.
