David Allen Bryant passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 17th, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at a local hospital. Born on April 24, 1950, in Lyons, Kansas, David was a man of quiet strength, genuine kindness, and unwavering warmth. He lived a life rooted in faith, family, and the simple joys that made every day meaningful.
David found peace in the sound of ocean waves, the warmth of the sun, and the comfort of being near the water. He was happiest cheering on his Dallas Cowboys, relaxing on the porch with loved ones, or planning his next travel adventure. A devoted employee of Conoco for 29 years, he retired in 2018, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication. For over a decade, he was a faithful member of Waters Edge Gathering, where he found fellowship and community.
David’s memory will forever live on in Sunday football games, porch conversations, ocean breezes, and the laughter of his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his fiancèe, Patty Bailey; siblings, Joy and Jimmy Bryant; his children, Randy Niles and his wife Kelly, Sheila (Niles) Gordon and her husband Dennis, Todd Bryant, Ryan Bryant, and Amanda (Bryant) McDonald; his grandchildren, MaryJo, Grace, Tanner (Morgen), Kylie (Nathan), Alexis (Luke), and Tryston; and his great-grandchildren, Chaplynn, Leighton, Collins, Miller, Walker, and Ellis.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 42 years, Jean Bryant; his grandson, Brandon Niles; and his parents, Dorothy and Edward Bryant.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 22nd, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Hixson Funeral Home, 3001 Ryan Street, Lake Charles, LA 70601. Funeral services will follow immediately at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Prien Memorial Park, 2220 Country Club Road, Lake Charles, LA 70605.
