Denise Scott

Denise Joan Scott, age 72, of DeRidder, Louisiana passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 21, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 8, 1952 in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania to Robert Sech and Leona Bernat Sech.

Denise proudly served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps. As a military wife, Denise served in various nursing positions and completed work for a BS in business and an MS in psychology while following her husband during his various assignments. After her husband’s retirement, she worked in various medical positions in SW Louisiana, the last of which was Chief of Nursing, at Phelps Correctional Center, DeQuincy, Louisiana.

Denise is preceded in death by her parents and her grandmother, Catherine "Babcia" Bernat.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Paul Scott of DeRidder; daughter, Tarra Scott Rondeau and her husband, Robert of Melbourne, FL; son, Erick Scott of Beaumont, TX; grandchildren, Isabella and Sebastian Scott Rondeau of Melbourne, FL, Savanna Cupples (Eli) of Keithville, LA, Kaiya Scott of Lake Charles, LA, and Alyssa Scott of Borben, IN; great-grandson, Rhett Paul Cupples of Keithville, LA; and a brother, Kevin Sech and his wife, Andrea of Downingtown, PA.

Denise's wishes were to be cremated. She will be laid to in the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Leesville, LA.
