Dennis was a 1976 graduate of Westlake High School and a lifelong resident of Southwest Louisiana. He was a caring and devoted husband who unconditionally loved his wife of 18 wonderful years, Cathy Lawson. His devotion to her came with daily reminders of how much he loved her. A devout Christian, Dennis served his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, as a member of Westside Baptist Church of Moss Bluff.
Dennis was a loving husband, father, son, and grandparent who always led by example. A very good friend indeed, always ready to host the next big party, gathering, or plan family vacations. Dennis was an LSU super fan, bled Saints black and gold, and closely followed the Astros. He found enjoyment in hunting, fishing, traveling but most of all, the smiles of his grandchildren. Dennis had a 41 year career at Calcasieu Refining Company as a Marketing Manager, among many other job titles. He was a very successful and respected business man across the country.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 18 years, Cathy Lawson of Sulphur, mother, Dixie Lawson of Westlake, sons, Dustin Lawson and wife Ashley of Moss Bluff, David Lawson of Lake Charles, Nicholas Lawson and wife Annamarie of Lake Charles, Kyle Mills and wife Julia of Lake Charles, Seth Mills of New Caney, TX and Drew Mills and wife Noelle of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Jagger, Silas, and Aryana Lawson, Leila and Hannah Mills, Shalynn Stephens; Adelyn, Audrey, and Lydia Mills and Bianca Williams; sisters, Vickie Lawson, Terri Hawes and husband Bob, and Susie Scalia and husband Dennis all of Westlake; and Sally Mills of Lake Jackson, TX.
