

Born in Hartselle Alabama to Virgil and Louise Bailey, Donald was one of four children. Donald was crowned Shrimp King for the fur and wildlife festival in Cameron in 2000, he owned and operated Bailey Seafood and lived in Cameron, LA until Hurricane Ike. He was a loving father, grandfather, great- grandfather and brother.
Survivors include his wife; Joyce Bailey of 46 years of Moss Bluff, LA., three sons; Carey Bailey and wife Rebecca of Lake Charles, LA, Carroll Bailey of Moss Bluff, LA, two daughters; Donna Sponseller and husband Joe of Gillis, LA and Cindy Schanchez and husband George of Florida., one sister; Sherry of Port Arthur, TX, brother-in-laws; Berlin Doucet and wife Ann., three sister-in-laws; Betty Pine, Bernadine Fusilier, Shirley Bullock and husband Marlton., eight grandchildren; Lizza Church and husband Mike, Allison Bailey and fiancé Mike Mudd, Samantha Smith and husband David, Skylar Bailey, Onje’le Bailey, Amy Fontenot and husband Clint, Gabby Jinks and Zoey Bailey., six great- grandchildren; Calie Pitre, Caden Church, Mason Smith, Cheyann Gray ,Parker Fontenot and Noah Fontenot.
He was preceded in death by both parents, one son; Donald “P-nut” Bailey, two brothers; Van Bailey and Terry Bailey and one brother-in-law; Gilford Doucet.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 26, 2015 from 11:00am to 9:00pm at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles will resume on Monday from 8:00am until time of service.
Funeral Service will be Monday, April 27, 2015 at 11:00am at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles, LA, Cremation is entrusted through Hixson Funeral Home.
