Douglas was kind and loving. He loved cars and trucks and could identify several models. He loved good food, and especially sweets. Douglas lived the majority of his life in an assisted living facility surrounded by people who showed him compassion and love as if they were truly his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Dyer D. Davidson & Jane Davidson, and his sisters; June Potter, Joann Young and Renee Rogers.
Those left to cherish his memories include his sisters; Kathryn Robicheaux and husband Andrew, and Dyanne Parrish, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of St. Francis Nursing Home of Oberlin, Louisiana and Harbor Hospice for their compassionate care of Douglas.
A graveside service will be held at Graceland Cemetery of Lake Charles, Louisiana Saturday, May 13, 2023 beginning at 10:00 am, led by Hixson Celebrant Jody Barrilleaux.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Foundation in honor of his mother Jane Davidson and his sister Renee Rogers.
