Eva Bonin Murphy

She was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles. Eva was manager of Plaidland Stamp Store until it closed. She retired as Personnel Specialist from J.C. Penney in 1989 after 17 years. Eva was a pre-k aide at I.C.C.S for 3 years. She also worked for Dr. David Duhon for 10 years until she was 81 years old. She was a lifelong member of University Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, J.W. Murphy; her parents, two brothers and three sisters. Survivors include three sons, Jay Murphy and wife, Bobbie, Leonard Murphy and wife, Loy all of Sulphur, Jimmie Murphy and wife, Diane of Lake Charles; one daughter, Leslie Guilbeaux and husband, Mike of Sulphur; 8 grandkids, 20 great grandkids and 3 great great grandkids.

Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Sunday, June 19, 2016 from 4pm – 8pm and will resume on Monday from 8am until service time. Funeral Services will be at the funeral home on Monday at 10am. Rev. Rachel McConnell-Switzer will officiate. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery.
