Fernie Davis Thompson

She was born in Oberlin, LA and lived in Lake Charles most of her life. Fernie was a member of Sale Street Baptist Church. She loved flower gardening and took great pride in caring for her home and yard. She also loved to cook for her family and friends. Fernie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

Survivors include her loving husband, Roy Thompson of Lake Charles; daughter, Mona Thompson Armstrong and husband Michael of Huntsville, AL; son, Charles David Thompson and wife Kim of Boerne, TX; grandchildren, Charley Thompson of Houston, TX and Luke Thompson of Austin, TX; sister, Sharon Fruge and husband Gerald of The Woodlands, TX; she was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Michelle Thompson; her parents, Alto and Lucille Davis; grandson, Chan Davis Reed; sisters, Emily Lacaze and Dorothy Papineaux; and brother, A.L. Davis.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles from 11a.m. until 12:30p.m. A Graveside Service will follow at Consolata Cemetery at 1p.m. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
