

Gerald James Hebert, 73, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2015 in an Alexandria hospital.
He was a lifelong resident of the Lake Charles/Grand Lake area. He was a graduate of Grand Lake High School in 1960 and was a member of their last football team. Gerald served his country in the U.S. Army, in Germany where he was honorably discharged. He retired after 20 years with Southern Pacific Railroad. He was also a self-employed truck driver; he worked for H&H Concrete and was co-owner of Hebert Trailer Park in Grand Lake. Gerald enjoyed gardening and working outdoors. He enjoyed muscle cars, working with horses, fishing and he was a hunting guide in his younger days. He loved sports and was an avid Saints fan.
Survivors include his loving wife of 19 years, Sharon Andres Hebert; daughters, Dina Bourgeois and husband Blane of Lake Arthur and Julie Salsbury and husband Shanon of Montgomery, Tx; step children, Charles Fahlenkamp, Lee Fahlenkamp, Amy Britt, Steve Fahlenkamp and Israel Cummings; 11 step grandchildren; brother, Robert Larton Hebert and wife Donna of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Reagan Bourgeois, Myles Bourgeois, Rhett Salsbury and Bella Salsbury. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert M. "Booster" Hebert and Eloise Fontenot Hebert.
Visitation is Friday, June 5, 2015 from 4p.m.-8p.m. and will resume on Saturday from 10a.m. until service time at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. His Funeral will be Saturday at 2p.m. at the funeral home. The Reverend Kelly Vigo will officiate. Burial will be at Grand Lake Cemetery.
